Operations

In January 2023, Rolfe Judd secured planning permission from a refurbishment and extension of Mott MacDonald House in the London Borough of Croydon for its client Patrizia. The project will create a building of over 9,140 sq m along with landscaping and public realm improvements.

Earlier, in summer 2022, Rolfe Judd secured planning permission for a major mixed use redevelopment for Hadley Goodmayes involving the redevelopment of a former retail site in Goodmayes in north east London to create some 1,342 sq m of new commercial and community floorspace and 568 homes within 7 new buildings.

Glenigan data

Glenigan data highlight some key projects in the pipeline where Rolfe Judd has worked. They show that the firm is a planning consultant on Ballymore Properties’ £50 million Castle in the Cluster scheme in Tower Hamlets involving over 350 houses and 75 flats where work is due to start in summer 2023 (Project ID: 19264627). Glenigan data also shows that Rolfe Judd is a master planner and architect on Blackrock Investment Management UK’s £88 million Colosseum Retail Park Development Phase 1 in Enfield involving around 450 new homes and commercial space and where work is due to start in late summer 2023 (Project ID: 21371125).

Conclusion: strong track record on mixed use schemes bodes well

Rolfe Judd remains one of the leading lights on the London architectural scene. The group has succeeded in winning planning permission on some of the largest mixed use schemes; where demand is likely to persist in the light of the shortage of housing in the capital and the trend towards higher densities. Whilst demand for the firm”s services in the commercial office sector is likely to be more subdued in line with the sector, its growing reputation in the buoyant regeneration sector – particularly around railway stations – should serve it well.
